Box Score ITTA BENA -- The Mississippi Valley State women's volleyball team won its first game over a SWAC opponent this season after claiming a 3-1 win over Grambling State at the HPER Complex.
Halee Clark posted a season-high 17 kills and a hitting percentage of .261 as the Devilettes defeated the Lady Tigers, 3-1. MVSU won the first set 25-21 before slipping in the second set, 29-27. The Devilettes responded by taking the third and final set, 25-22 and 25-19.
Athena Abary had a career-best 42 assists for Valley and Taylor Delaire chipped in nine kills.
MVSU will be back at home Saturday at 1 p.m. when they host Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
