Box Score ATLANTA -- It was a game of two halves.
Unfortunately, Mississippi Valley State dug too dig of a hole in the first half at Georgia Tech as the Yellow Jackets fended off the Delta Devils to secure a 76-59 victory at the McCamish Pavilion in front of an announced crowd of 5,336.
MVSU (1-5) outscored Tech 45-35 in the second half, but a 41-14 halftime deficit was too much for the visiting Delta Devils to handle.
"When you dig yourself that kind of hole, it's nearly impossible to come out -- especially on the road," said MVSU coach Chico Potts.
The Delta Devils shot just 12.9 percent in the first half, but like in previous games this season, Valley looked like a different team in the second half -- shooting 50.8 percent from the field.
Anthony McDonald, who led the Delta Devils with 17 points, put up 11 in the final 20 minutes while Jordan Washington scored all of his 12 points -- which all came on 3's -- in the second half.
DeAngelo Priar had 14 for Valley and Julius Francis led the Delta Devils with six rebounds.
MVSU made 11-of-29 shots from behind the 3-point arch.
Robert Carter paced the Yellow Jackets with 13 points and 15 rebounds.
The Delta Devils will be back on the road Friday in West Long Branch, NJ at Monmouth. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST.
