Box Score CLEVLEAND, Miss. -- When Mississippi Valley State's Anthony McDonald tied the game up at 66 with more than 3 minutes left Monday night at Delta State, it appeared as if the Delta Devils had gained the momentum needed to upend the homestanding Statesmen.

But DSU went on a 12-2 run in the final minutes to defeat Valley, 78-68, in an exhibition game at Walter Sillers Colisuem.

Darryl Marshall led the Delta Devils with 17 points, incluidng a pair of 3-pointers, while DeAngelo Prair added 13 points and Daniell Hurtt chipped in 10. Vacha Vaughn led the Delta Devils on the boards with 10 rebounds off the bench.

Jackson State transfer Willie Readus paced the Statesmen with 18 points and nine rebounds.

MVSU shot 36.1 percent from the field and made 17-of-22 free throws.

The Delta Devils will open the regular season Friday at Oklahoma State.
