Box Score MONROE, La. -- Mississippi Valley State scored all 11 of its runs in two innings Wednesday as the Delta Devils upset Louisiana-Monroe, 11-6.
The Delta Devils (5-36) put up five runs in the first and six more in the eighth as MVSU routed the defending Sun Belt champions on the road. The win ends a 10-game losing streak for the Delta Devils.
Four MVSU players registered two hits each and the Delta Devils combined for 13 hits.
David Lostra (3-6) earned the victory after allowing just one earned run on four hits with two strikeouts in six innings of relief work.
MVSU will be on the road at Alabama A&M this weekend in a pivotal series as both teams fight for the final spot in the SWAC Baseball Tournament.
