ITTA BENA -- Good news has arrived for one Mississippi Valley State baseball player.
Second baseman Edmund Cheatham has been named First Team All-SWAC following a standount senior season. The Jackson, Miss. native was the lone MVSU player to be honored.
Chetham was tied for first on the team with 45 hits while batting .292 at the plate. He is currently ranked first in the nation in stolen bases per game with .89. He successfuly stole 39 bases in 54 attempts this season. Cheatham also led the Delta Devils with 21 RBIs and two homeruns.
