ITTA BENA – Mississippi Valley State has released its women’s soccer schedule for the upcoming 2013 season.

The 16-game schedule includes seven home games and nine away trips.

MVSU will open the season August 23 when it travels to Central Arkansas for a 4 p.m. kick off. Valley will host three non-conference opponents including Southern Miss (August 25), Southeastern Louisiana (August 30) and Louisiana-Monroe (September 22).

The Devilettes will also host four SWAC matchups against Alabama A&M (Oct. 4), Alabama State (Oct. 6), Grambling State (Oct. 11) and Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Oct. 13).

MVSU will be on the road at Delta State (Sept. 1), Nicholls State (Oct. 6), Louisiana-Lafayette (Sept. 15), Prairie View A&M (Oct. 18), Texas Southern (Oct. 20), Southern University (Oct. 25), Jackson State (Oct. 27) and Alcorn State (Nov. 1).

The Devilettes are coming off a SWAC Tournament title after defeating Jackson State 2-0 in the championship game. MVSU advanced to the NCAA Tournament, falling at Florida State.
