ITTA BENA -- Mississippi Valley State's Brandon Powe's defensive efforts last week in a loss to Southern University has earned him honors by College Football Performance Awards.

The senior linebacker was named Honorable Mention Linebacker Performer of the Week after racking up 12 tackles (4.5 for loss) and a pair of sacks against the Jaguars.

It marked the second straight game that he has accounted for double-digit tackles.
