Arkansas on tap for Delta Devils, game to be broadcasted on ESPN3

Just days after claiming its first win of the season, the Mississippi Valley State baseball team will be back on the diamond Tuesday when the Delta Devils travel to Arkansas. MVSU and the Razorbacks will play a doubleheader starting at 3:05 p.m. at Baum Stadium in Fayetteville, Ark. The second game is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.

The teams will end the series Wednesday in Little Rock, Ark. at 6:35 p.m. The game will be broadcasted live by Cox Sports Television (CST) and ESPN3.com.

Thomas to start in Game 1
MVSU junior Blake Thomas is scheduled to start in the series opener at Arkansas. The Meridian, Miss. native currently is 0-2 on the season. Thomas last played on March 16 in a loss at Jackson State.

Hawkins on a three-game hitting streak
Tyji Hawkins has recorded a hit in a hit in each of the last three games. The Columbus, Miss. native tied a season high with three hits at Alcorn State on March 22. He's currently third on the team in batting average (.254).
 
Sheppeard gets first career victory
Connor Sheppeard's first career win on the mound came Saturday at Alcorn State. The Greenville, Miss. native pitched a complete game Saturday in a win at Alcorn, giving up six earned runs on 10 hits with three strikeouts. Sheppeard (1-6) is scheduled to start on the mound in Game 2 at Arkansas.

Shanks gets 250th career win
MVSU head coach Doug Shanks notched his 250th career with Saturday at Alcorn State. The longtime MVSU coach has won all 250 games while leading the Delta Devils over the past 14 seasons.
