ITTA BENA -- Three Mississippi Valley State women's basketball players have been named All-SWAC by College Sports Madness.
Senior forward Jasmyne Sanders was selected to the first team while her twin sister Joncyee Sanders was named to the second team. Meanwhile, freshman forward Ashley Beals was named Fourth Team ALL-SWAC.
Jasmyne Sanders, a Brandon, Miss. native, has been the Devilettes' most consistent scorer all season -- leading Valley in points per game (11.6) and third in rebounds (5.3). She has started every game this season for MVSU and had a career-high 21 points at Arkansas on Dec. 28.
Joncyee Sanders has been one of the best all-around players in the SWAC this season -- averaging 9.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.8 assists. Sanders has posted three double-doubles this season and has recorded at least 10 assists in three games this season.
Beals, a Canton, Miss. native, ranks second on the team in scoring (10.1 ppg) and first in rebounds (6.2) in her first year at Valley. She posted a season-high 22 points at Memphis on Dec. 18 and had a team-high four double-doubles this season.
