Box Score 3 CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Mississippi Valley State baseball team ended its season Sunday with a 5-1 loss at Southern Illinois in a contest that was cut short due to weather conditions at Itchy Jones Stadium.
The Salukis completed the three game sweep after defeating the Delta Devils 8-2 on Friday and 6-1 on Saturday.
Sunday's game was called off in the bottom of the sixth inning after a 32-minute lightning delay, which came after an eight-minute rain delay earlier in the game. In the top half of the sixth, MVSU scored its lone run of the game on a Brady McBride double up the middle. McBride's hit was one of two of the game for Valley (4-38).
Shawn Wiseman gave up four earned runs on four hits in four innings of work in the loss.
