ITTA BENA, Miss. --- Mississippi Valley State University's Women's Basketball Head Coach Elvis Robinson has been hot on the recruitment trail. Robinson has added speed, endurance and flexibility to the Devilettes' roster.
Robinson said, "This group of young ladies has proven to be a force, both on and off the court. It is very important to the MVSU family that players not only exceed on the court but that they perform well in the classroom."
Kimberly Pickett is a guard from Hawthorne, California, is a junior college transfer. She recently completed her matriculation at Los Angeles Southwest College. Pickett started in 22 of 23 games, averaging 26 minutes and 18 points per game.
Domonique Clune is a forward from Stockbridge, Georgia, is a junior college transfer. She completed her first year of college as a Lady Bobcat at East Georgia State College. Clune appeared in 29 games, averaging 15.5 points per games, 34.6 field goal percentage, 33.8 three-point percentage, 5.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.
Makayla Bonner is a true freshman center for the Devilettes basketball team. She stands 6'1 and will be a dominant force on the court. Whether facing the basket or with her back to it, Bonner has a power in the paint presence. Routinely, she paced her high school with double double in rebounds and points.
Kristy Parker, a 5'6 point guard will be close to home for her collegiate career, as she attended Gentry High School in Indianola, Mississippi. She appeared in 33 games, averaged 16.0 points, 5.5 assists, 8.0 rebounds, 4.9 steals and 0.2 blocks per game.
Caprice Coleman, a 5'10 shooting guard from Vaughan, Mississippi. She played for Yazoo County High School in Yazoo, Mississippi. During her senior campaign, Coleman appeared in 15 games, averaging 22.9 points per game.
Zemoria Jernigan, a 5'6 point guard from Chicago, Illinois, completed her junior college career at Rock Valley College. Last season Jernigan appeared in 28 games, averaging 24.2 minutes per game. She tallied 12.6 points per game, .375 field goal percentage, 3.9 rebounds per game, 7.1 assists per game, 2.7 steals per game and 0.4 blocks per game.
"I am excited to welcome each player to our women's basketball family and I thank them for entrusting Mississippi Valley with their collegiate career," stated Robinson.
