Game Notes
ITTA BENA – After a heartbreaking 35-0 homecoming loss to Alabama A&M last Saturday, Mississippi Valley State is primed and ready to try to fend off Grambling State this week.
The Delta Devils (1-4, 1-3 SWAC) will host the winless Tigers (0-5, 0-4 SWAC) at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The last time the two teams met, Grambling pulled off a 30-24 overtime victory on their way to a SWAC title. But despite the Tigers’ troubles this season, Morgan and the Delta Devils aren’t taking them lightly.
“They’re the defending champions until someone else is crowned, so we have respect for them,” Morgan said.
