Magnolia Field

Magnolia Field (1957 - Present)

Magnolia Field has served as a cornerstone of Mississippi Valley State baseball since 1957, standing as one of the more enduring athletic venues on campus. Located in Itta Bena, the field reflects a traditional, no-frills approach to the game, emphasizing fundamentals, development, and community connection. For generations of student-athletes, Magnolia Field has been the setting where collegiate careers began, rivalries were built, and the identity of Valley baseball was shaped.

Magnolia Field offers an intimate and personal game-day experience. Fans are close to the action, creating an atmosphere where every pitch, swing, and defensive play is felt throughout the park. This closeness reinforces the bond between the team and its supporters, many of whom are alumni, local residents, and families who have followed the program for decades. The venue’s modest size underscores its role as a true campus facility rather than a commercialized stadium, preserving the traditional feel of college baseball.

Magnolia Field is home to the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils, who compete at the NCAA Division I level as members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Competing in one of the nation’s most storied HBCU conferences, the Delta Devils have used Magnolia Field as both a training ground and competitive stage against conference and non-conference opponents. The field represents continuity within the program, linking past eras of Valley baseball with the present and future.
