ITTA BENA -- The Mississippi Valley State softball team closed out the home portion of its schedule Sunday by completing a three-game sweep over Alcorn State.
The Devilettes (26-17, 13-0 SWAC) defeated the Lady Braves 11-2 in five innings on Saturday before sweeping the visiting team on Sunday, 11-5 in the first game and 9-1 in the final game in five innings.
MVSU honored its five seniors (Rachelle Harris, Shana Ladner, Trenicea Cameron, Ashley Hobbs and Diana Parada) on Friday and also celebrated Family Day.
Over the weekend, Alicia Lorenz picked up two wins while Kimberly Spivey won the first game on the mound Sunday.
With an undefeated conference record, the Devilettes hold the No. 1 spot in the SWAC Eastern standings.
MVSU will visit Ole Miss on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. in Oxford.
