Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LONGVIEW, Texas -- The Mississippi Valley State softball team split a couple games Saturday after defeating Prairie View 5-3 and falling to Texas Southern 5-3 at the SWAC Round-Up.

Against Prairie View, Alexandria Robertson homered twice for the second straight game and Xiomara Perez hit a homer as the Devilettes (11-21, 2-1 SWAC) defeated the Lady Panthers. Kimberly Spivey (5-7) earned the win, allowing three earned runs on six hits with six strikeouts.

In the loss to Texas Southern, the Lady Tigers scored all five of its runs in the third inning, including two homeruns. Robertson and Natalia Covarrubias each had an RBI single for Valley while Nicole Burr hit a solo homerun.

Alicia Lorenz (4-12) suffered the loss, allowing five earned runs on six hits with six strikeouts.

The Devilettes will face UAPB and Southern on Sunday on the final day of the SWAC Round-Up.
