Box Score ITTA BENA -- Alexandria Robertson hit her 11th homerun of the season Thursday to lead Mississippi Valley State to a 10-2 five-inning win over Alabama State in MVSU's first home game of the season.

Robertson's three-run homer in the fourth inning accounted for three of Valley's eight runs in the inning. Earlier in the same inning, Natalia Covarrubias hit a three-run double for the Devilettes.

Robertson finished 3-for-3 with four RBIs and Alicia Lorenz (6-12) earned the victory for MVSU (13-22, 4-2 SWAC), allowing two hits and one run with five strikeouts.

ASU (3-27, 2-4 SWAC) committed four errors and only registered two hits on the night. Destini Valencia (1-11) suffered the loss after allowing eight hits and nine earned runs with two strikeouts.

MVSU and ASU will play a doubleheader Friday beginning at 1 p.m.
