Devilettes bash Lady Bulldogs, 10-2

Box Score ITTA BENA -- A wild pitch sealed Alabama A&M's fate Friday night at Mississippi Valley State.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, MVSU scored three runs as Angel Crawford's pitch escaped catcher Melony Hill and the Devilettes skated past the Lady Bulldogs 10-2 in six innings.

MVSU (14-23, 5-2 SWAC) scored five runs in the sixth inning, including an RBI-triple by Brittany Lilly. Earlier, in the third inning, Xiomara Perez hit an RBI-single to right field that gave Valley a 4-0 lead.

The Devilettes also scored a pair of runs using two of A&M's three errors during the game.

Lilly and Perez led the Devilettes with hits apiece.

Kimberly Spivey (6-8) allowed six hits and two earned runs with four strikeouts.

MVSU and A&M will play a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. Valley will honor its seniors before the second game.
