Box Score STARKVILLE -- Mississippi Valley State pitcher Alicia Lorenz gave up just three hits and one run, but that was all Mississippi State needed Wednesday night. 

The Bulldogs (31-16) upended the Devilettes 1-0 at the MSU Softball Stadium. 

Nicole Burr accounted for two of MVSU's three hits. while Alexandra Sullivan also registered a hit. Lorenz finished with five strikeouts in six innings of work. 

MSU scored the lone run of the game in the third inning. 

Valley (18-27) will be on the road at Alcorn State on Friday and Saturday.
