HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- The Mississippi Valley State women's soccer team rebounded from its loss to Alabama State on Friday with a 2-0 victory at Alabama A&M on Sunday afternoon.
It's the third third in the last four games for the Devilettes, who only have one game remaining in the regular season. The win also solidified Valley's spot in the SWAC Tournament, which is set for Nov. 6-9 at the John Hunt Soccer Complex in Huntsville, Ala.
MVSU (3-10-3, 3-3-3 SWAC) scored one goal in each half. Nykosi Simmons scored the first goal after the 18th minute on an assist from Ernestina Abambila. Valley's second half goal came near the 78th minute by Heather Craddock on an assist from Craddock.
For the second straight game, MVSU's Rita Gyasi had 10 saves. Alabama A&M had 24 shots while Valley attempted 10 (five on goal).
Valley's Mariana Balboa had two shots on goal and Abambila also attempted two shots in the game.
The Devilettes will play their final regular season game Friday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. against Alcorn State.
