Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LONGVIEW, Texas -- A final day of the SWAC Round Up ended with a pair of losses for the Mississippi Valley State softball team. 

The Devilettes ended the three-day event with a 17-4 loss to Texas Southern before falling 14-12 to Prairie View A&M at the Lear Athletic Complex. 

Texas Southern 17, MVSU 4 
The Lady Tigers racked up 19 hits in the win over MVSU, scoring six runs in the both the second and fourth inning. MVSU's Natalia Covarrubias had two RBIs and Tenna Patterson gave up four earned runs with three strikeouts in 2.1 innings of work. 

Prairie View A&M 14, MVSU 12 
The Lady Panthers scored seven runs in the sixth inning to overcome the Devilettes in the final game of the Round Up for both teams. MVSU attempted a comeback in the seventh inning, scoring four runs -- two of which came on a home run by Deja Talton. Talton and Yasmin Battle led Valley with three hits apiece and Talton and Brandi Williams each chipped in three RBIs. Tenna Patterson surrendered three earned runs on five hits with four strikeouts in 4.1 innings on the mound.
