ITTA BENA -- The Mississippi Valley State softball team will close out the regular season this weekend when they host rival Jackson State starting Friday at 6 p.m. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 3:32 p.m. in a game that will be broadcasted live on ESPNU and ESPN3. The Lady Tigers (24-26, 14-0 SWAC) enter the series undefeated in SWAC play and currently hold the top spot in the SWAC Eastern Division. Meanwhile, MVSU (10-32, 8-6 SWAC) is in third place behind Alabama State. The SWAC Softball Tournament is set for May 7-10 in Decatur, Ala. at Wilson Morgan Park.

On Friday, MVSU will be honoring seniors Cassandra Rivera and Brianna Holmes along with support staff: Andrea Moore, Melinda Moore, Ervin Thomas, Artiko Greer, and Brittany Lilly.
