Box Score ITTA BENA -- The Jackson State softball team won the first of three games Friday night against the Devilettes, 6-3, at the MVSU Softball Complex.
The two teams will meet Saturday in a doubleheader starting at 3:32 p.m. with the first game to be broadcasted live on ESPNU and ESPN3.
JSU (25-26, 15-0 SWAC) used four runs in the fourth inning Friday to break a 1-1 tie in the fifth inning. Lauren Aikens led JSU at the plate with a pair of hits. Meanwhile, MVSU finished the night with four hits and committed two errors. Natalia Covarrubias had a double and Courtenay Brooks was walked three times.
Tenna Patterson suffered the loss, giving up two earned runs on a pair of hits in three innings of relief work.
