LORMAN, Mississippi… The Mississippi Valley State Devilettes fell 75-39 to the Lady Braves of Alcorn State University.
The opening quarter was an offensive and defensive settling for both teams. With shooting errors and fouls both teams finished with 13 points. During the second, MVSU maintained their 13 points, but the Lady Braves were able to add an additional seven for 20 points, going into halftime the score was 33-26.
The second half proved to be problematic for the Devilettes as they were held to just 13 points for two quarters.
Zemoria Jernigan led the team with 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and one steal; while Kahdejah Stevens added eight points, eight rebounds and one steal.
The Devilettes will reorder and head to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to face the Southern University Lady Jaguars on Saturday, February 15 at 5:30 pm.
