Prairie View, Texas – Mississippi Valley's soccer team entered the Southwestern Athletic Conference tournament as the sixth seed and had to face the Howard University Lady Bison. Howard was able to defeat the Devilettes 4-1, eliminating them from the tournament and concluding the 2017 campaign.

Th game started with a bang for Howard as they landed two goals in under five minutes, 17:33 and 21:29, both by Kela Gray.

After halftime, Mississippi Valley's Sheyenne Bonnick lodged the ball into the middle of the net (71:01) to put the Devilettes on the board.
The Lady Bison struck on back-to-back goals to put the contest away. Scoring at 79:28 and 80:36.

Mississippi Valley's goalies recorded 11 saves for the afternoon. Each goalie relinquished two goals. The Devilettes recorded seven shots, six of which were on target.
