LONGVIEW, Texas – (Softball) The Devilettes of Mississippi Valley State traveled to the Lone Star State to face Jarvis Christian College en route to a weekend series at Prairie View A & M University. MVSU won the match to the tune of 6-1.

The Devilettes scored each of their runs in the top of the first before settling into a strong defensive stance. It was a single by Kailyn Dunn up the middle that scored Deja Talton. With the bases loaded,

Dejanae Gage walked to score Jodeci Tuia. A single to center field by Elissa Salinas scored Ikeyia Alexander and Dunn.

A sacrifice fly ball sent soaring into right field by Maranda Sandoval sent Gage racing across home plate. The final runner (Salinas) scored on a single to center field by Lexany Terrones.

JCC didn't score their single run until the bottom of the third. That was the final run of the contest.

Jezabelle Quintana took the win for MVSU inside the pitcher's circle.
