MONTGOMERY (Softball) – The Devilettes of Mississippi Valley fought valiantly in their contest against the Lady Panthers of Prairie View A & M University, however they were unable to overcome the point deficit en route to dropping the contest 5-3.

Mississippi Valley led in hitting, however they could not get their runners home. The Devilettes recorded three runs on 10 hits, however three errors made the difference on the scoreboard, especially when the Lady Panthers finished with five runs on nine hits and no errors.

Prairie View's scored twice in the first and second innings, lifting them to a 4-0 lead. In the top of the fourth, Mississippi Valley closed the gap with three runs.

In the bottom of the same inning (fourth) PVAMU scored their final run.

Rebekah Clinton was credited with the loss for Mississippi Valley in the pitcher's circle.
