MONTGOMERY (Softball) – The Devilettes of Mississippi Valley State faced off with the Lady Hornets of Alabama State in an intense doubleheader on Saturday. ASU captured both to take the series. In game one, Alabama State won 9-4 and game two ended 8-0.

Game 1:

Game one was an exciting contest to follow as both teams put on a show. Alabama State scored four in the first and fourth innings. They also scored one in the fifth.

Mississippi Valley was able to score one runner in the third, fourth, sixth and seventh innings. Alyssa Montes took the loss in the pitcher's circle. Lexany Terrones paced the team with three hits.

The Devilettes finished with four runs on 11 hits and one error.

Game 2:

In game two, Mississippi Valley was unable to score in the contest. They finished with four runs and no errors.

Alabama State was able to score once in the first, four in the fourth and three in the six to wrap the contest up in six innings. Andrea Elmore took the loss for the Devilettes inside the pitcher's circle.
