PINE BLUFF, Ark. – The Devilettes of Mississippi Valley State salvaged a 2-2 tie at Arkansas–Pine Bluff after their opponents scored twice in the final 10 minutes of regulation Friday in the Southwestern Athletic Conference opener for both teams.

Hannah Crise scored her first goal of the season and Stephany Adomako found the back of the goal for the third time this season for the Devilettes (3-4-2, 0-0-1 SWAC).

Valley played with a lead for most of the contest, as Adomako gave the visitors an early lead less than 10 minutes into the contest.

Crise stretched the lead for Valley to 2-0 five minutes after the halftime restart. Her goal was the only shot fired by the Devilettes in the second period, as Pine Bluff went on an all-out attack trying to claw its way back into the contest.

UAPB's Kiarra Fenwick put the Golden Lions on the board in 83rd minute, and then pulled her team level with Valley with another goal four minutes later.

Freshman goalkeeper Myisha Butts entered the match as a substitute for Valley and stopped six out of eight shots on goal. As the goalie of record in the match, she remained undefeated on the season with a record of 1-0-2.

Pine Bluff improved its overall record to 0-3-1 with the tie.

The Devilettes return to action Sunday when they visit Grambling. Match time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
