Itta Bena, Ms.- Mississippi Valley State will host the First Annual MVSU Legends Classic on February 28th - March 1st. The teams that will be competing in the tournament will be the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Florida A&M University, and Tennessee State University.
On Saturday at 2:00 p.m. during the MVSU vs. FAMU game, the Devilettes will honor Legendary Head Coach Veronica Wiggins as she will be retiring after the 2020 season. There will be an on-field ceremony prior to the game to celebrate Coach Wiggins and everything she has meant to Florida A&M and the game of softball. Wiggins has been at the helm of Florida A&M since 1992 and has 771 career wins, 12 conference championships, and 9 NCAA appearances for the Rattlers. She has also served on the NCAA Rules Committee, as well as the NCAA Selection Committee, to continue to grow the game.
This will be the first meeting between Mississippi Valley State and Florida A&M since the 2014 season, where the Devilettes lost to the Rattlers by a score of 8-0. Below will be the tournament schedule in its entirety.
