Hattiesburg, MS.- The Mississippi Valley State Softball team opens the 2020 season with a trip to Hattiesburg, Ms. to participate in a three team tournament hosted by University of Southern Mississippi, first pitch set for 4 p.m. against St. Louis University. Following that contest, the Devilettes take on Southern Mississippi at 6:30 p.m. to conclude Fridays slate.

On Saturday, the Devilettes face off against St Louis University at noon and won't return to the field until Sunday with a match-up against Southern Mississippi at 12:30 p.m.

The Devillettes retained 4 players from the 2019 campaign that they expect huge season outputs from including, junior Deshonte Smith who is the teams power hitter and first baseman and the other returners are sophomores Jaylon Davis, Jewel Unga and Brianna Alston. They all look to have huge seasons for Mississippi Valley this season.

After a hard fought 10-31(5-12) 2019 campaign, the Devilettes look to right the ship and return to the top of the Southwestern Conference rankings.
