Devilettes Traveled to Texas for a Double Header against Texas College

Tyler, Tx.-The Devilettes traveled to Tyler, TX in a battle against the Steers.

MVSU vs. Texas College (21-1)

MVSU scored their most runs in a game this season with 21 runs. They finished the game with 19 hits and zero errors. Jaylon Davis led the way with 5 runs and 2 steals at home plate. Brianna Alston finished second with 4 runs. Ayana Taylor scored 3 runs as well as hitting one out of the park with 2 RBI's. Jewel Unga, Naomi Drake, Jessica Barr, and Laeni Terrones all scored 2 runs. Ashlyn Matthews earned the win at the mound. Texas College earned one run at the top of the third inning with Leslie Merchan earning a single with an RBI from Jakayda Fountain.
 
MVSU vs. Texas College (13-2)

To finish up their two-day road trip the Devilettes handled business in ordinary fashion. They earned their 5th win and are now on a two-game winning streak. At the top of the first inning Brianna Alston, Cailyn Peterson, and Deshonte Smith stole home plate. The Devilettes went up early on a 3-0 lead and scored in the second off a single from Laeni Terrones, with an RBI from Sydney Wesley. Texas College answered with two runs of their own with a homerun from Avery Rojas. At the top of the third, Deshonte Smith scored on a  throwing era into the field of play. The Devilettes finished the Steers off at the top of the fourth inning with 5 runs. MVSU pulled off with an 8-point lead with the score being 10-2. At the top of the fifth inning Cailyn Peterson scored, and Sydney Wesley singled with 2 RBI's from Karlee Schierbeek and Deshonte Smith. The final score was 13-2.
