Devilettes Double Up Lady Eagles In Fourth Quarter

 
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State University women's basketball doubled up Southern Miss in the final frame (18-9) but dropped to 0-5 with a 72-53 defeat in the final game of the Lady Eagle Thanksgiving Classic.

  • Sarah Moore was close to a double-double as well, putting up season-best numbers in rebounds (10), points (8) and assists (3) to go along with her first multi-block game as a member of the Delta Devilette family.
 
  • Mikayla Etienne set a new personal-high with 18 points to lead all scorers while tying for the team lead in steals (3) and adding six boards to her total.
 
Notes
 
  • Mahoney and Moore each pulled down ten-plus boards, the first time a MVSU duo has done that since December 20, 2020, versus Northwestern State.
 
  • The Delta Devilettes won the turnover battle for the fourth time in five outings, causing 26 turnovers and committing 15.
 
The Green and White gets a week off before heading west to Ruston where it will go up against the Lady Techsters of Louisiana Tech at 5 p.m. next Sunday.
