Delta Devilettes Conclude Brutal Four-Game Road Trip At Texas Southern

HOUSTON, Texas – The Mississippi Valley State women's soccer program ended its scoring drought but could not halt its losing skid, falling 6-1 at TSU inside Durley Stadium.

The Basics

  • Final Score: Texas Southern 6, Mississippi Valley State 1

  • Records: Mississippi Valley State (1-9, 0-6 SWAC) | Texas Southern (4-7-3, 3-2-3 SWAC)

  • Location: Houston, Texas – Durley Stadium

Merica Abnathy put the Delta Devilettes on the scoreboard with a perfectly executed unassisted goal to trim the deficit to one (2-1).

Coach Davies' team put together its highest shot count of the campaign (10) but were only able to place three accurately.

Abnathy accounted for five of those ten attempts, Rahael Aky-Ety garnered three, Beatriz Kretteis had one which was on-target while Taiwo Badejo did the same.

McKenzie McCarthy notched eight saves, snapping her four-match streak of double-figure saves.
