Devilettes Compete in the SWAC Tournament

Birmingham, AL. – The Mississippi Valley State Devilettes took on the Jackson State Lady Tigers in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Basketball Tournament with a chance to move on to the second round, closer to the championship. Sadly, the Lady Tigers took the win that advanced them into the second round by a score of 70-47.


How It Happened
  • Zakiya Mahoney led the team tonight with a total of 12 points, four rebounds, and one assist.
  • Ronni Williams had another all-around game with nine points, six rebounds and three assists.
  • Da'Sha McGloster chipped in a total of eight points, five rebounds, and three assist. 
  • MVSU shot 32.2% from the field (19-59), 40.0% from the three-point line (6-15), and 37.5% from the charity stripe (3-8).
