HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Mississippi Valley State University women's soccer program did not have any goals but still managed to score in the standings on Friday afternoon as the Devilettes tied the Alabama A&M Lady Bulldogs in a scoreless draw, 0-0.

• McKenzie McCarthy was a brick wall in goal for the Green and White, turning in her first career shutout after 43 previous tries at MVSU, securing 14 saves while keeping the Dawgs off the scoreboard.

 

• Rahael Aka-Ety and Juliette Charriez each placed a shot-on-goal with Aka-Ety adding a second attempt that went off-target while Aryana Saenz sailed her lone shot attempt high.

 
Notes
 

• The tie snaps a 37-match losing streak dating back to September 6, 2019 when Valley State defeated South Carolina State by a score of 3-2 in the Delta.

 

• It also snapped a 31-match losing streak to SWAC opponents with its last positive decision coming versus Alcorn on October 27, 2017 in a one-nil victory.

 
Coach Davies and the ladies still have a glimmer of hope for the final SWAC Tournament spot depending on Friday's outcomes as it travels to the Lady Hornets' nest on Sunday for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
