- Freshman Bailee Washington made a strong first impression in her collegiate debut, getting two of the team's five shots off with one of those being on-target.

- Rahael Aka-Ety logged a tied for career-best two shots and one shot-on-goal while playing the full 90 minutes for her seventh complete game at Valley State.

- Ludesha Reynolds also made her first NCAA appearance, earning the start in between the pipes where she contributed three saves in 28 minutes.

- McKenzie McCarthy relieved Reynolds as goalie and finished out the final 62 minutes of regulation, tacking on seven saves.

- MVSU fell to 3-16 (.158) all-time in season openers and 3-14-1 (.194) for home openers with Valley unofficially having a fourth home win that was eventually vacated due to NCAA sanctions that came against Nicholls in 2018 (3-1).
