Mulligan’s Hat Trick Leads Lady Jags Past Devilettes


ITTA BENA, Miss. – The Mississippi Valley State women's soccer program took its first lead of season when Rahael Aka-Ety found the back of the net in the 24th minute but a hat trick by Southern's Lonnie Mulligan spoiled the party in a 3-1 Valley State setback.

  • The goal was made possible with a double assist by Aryana Saenz and Bailee Washington, their fifth and first of their Valley tenure, respectively.
 
  • Olujede Bridgewater had her second consecutive match with a shot-on-goal, placing her only shot of the day on-target.
 
  • McKenzie McCarthy logged seven saves with a 70% stop rate and her 35th complete game over 39 career matches at Valley State (89.7%)

  • The fifth-most accurate shooting team in the SWAC will most likely be moving up the ranks, landing two of its three shots on-target (66.7%).
