FLORENCE, Ala.- The Mississippi Valley State Devilettes drop season opener against North Alabama on Friday afternoon, 8-2, at the Hilda B. Anderson Softball Complex.
Devilettes led the Lions 1-0 in the third inning when MVSU scored the game's first run on a walk, two bunt singles, and a bases-loaded walk to Kaitlyn Harper.
The Lions quickly rallied with three runs in the bottom of the third to take its first lead of the game, 3-1.Â
The Devilettes got its second run of the game in the fifth when Jade Smith singled, stole second, and later scored on a wild pitch.
The Lions put the game away in the bottom of the sixth, 8-2.Â
Due to inclement weather, the second game of the scheduled double-header is now rescheduled to Sunday. The Devilettes and Lions will now play a Sunday double-header beginning at noon.
