ITTA BENA, MS - Mississippi Valley State University's women's basketball face tough 76-57 loss to Bethune-Cookman University at the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex on Saturday night.

The Devilettes started the game on a high note, jumping out to an eight-point lead over the Wildcats with 2:14 remaining in the first quarter. However, the Wildcats clawed their way back into the game, and after MVSU collected 11 team fouls in the second quarter, Bethune-Cookman took the lead into halftime with a score of 35-31.

As the game progressed, the visiting Wildcats surged to their first double-digit lead of the night late in the 3rd quarter, ending the quarter with a 50-39 lead. Despite MVSU's efforts, Bethune-Cookman maintained their momentum, securing a final score of 76-57 and clinching the victory.

Leading the charge for Mississippi Valley State were two standout players who scored in double figures. Jaylia Reed had an impressive performance, finishing with 19 points, three rebounds, and two steals. Sh'Diamond McKnight also made a significant contribution, adding 14 points, six assists, four rebounds, three steals, and two blocks.
