ITTA BENA, MS - The Mississippi Valley State University softball team took a 6-3 loss to Florida A&M University at MVSU Softball Field on Senior Day.

Morgan Gutierrez took the loss for the Devilettes. Gutierrez went seven innings allowing six runs on six hits, striking out one, and walking two.
FAMU were the first on the board driving in a run on a hit by pitch in the first inning.
India Ivy tied the game 1-1 scoring on an error.
FAMU scored two runs in the 4
th inning, then added three runs in the 6
th inning to take the lead 6-3.
In the 7
th inning, Valley attempted to make a comeback scoring two runs, but fell just short.
GAME NOTES
- Mississippi Valley State was led offensively by Alexa Taylor who went 1-for-3 with a single and scored one run.
- Taylor Fuller led MVSU drawing two walks at the plate.
- Mississippi Valley State as a team drew four walks at the plate.
- Mississippi Valley State's highest-scoring inning was the seventh, when it pushed two runs across the plate.

The Delta Devilettes will face the Rattlers of Florida A&M University on Friday, April 19
th for the second game of the doubleheader at 4pm at MVSU Softball Field in Itta Bena, MS.
