Devilettes Offense Goes Cold at Southern

 
BATON ROUGE, La. – The Mississippi Valley State University women's basketball program's offense got hit with a cold spell in the Louisiana state capital on Thursday afternoon as the ladies dropped its lone contest of the weekend to the Southern Jaguars, 69-46.

  • Desiree Smith was just one behind Thompson for the team's scoring lead at eight as she fronted the rebounding department (6) and collected both a steal plus an assist.
 
  • Jakyrra Sandifer notched her first career multi-steal outing at a four-year institution, being the only player for Coach James to have more than one takeaway (2).
 
  • Sydnei Marshall registered the team's blocked shot in addition to six points whereas Nairobi Lewis put five points on the board, all from the free throw line.
