Itta Bena, Miss. - Mississippi Valley State Athletics prepares for a busy week of competition across multiple sports as Delta Devils teams compete in postseason basketball, conference match ups, and early-season track and field action.

Men's and women's basketball will both open play in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Basketball Tournament at Gateway Center Arena in Atlanta on Monday.
The Mississippi Valley State women's basketball team will begin tournament play Monday afternoon against Prairie View A&M Panthers women's basketball. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. CT as the Delta Devils look to make a strong postseason push.

Later in the evening, the Valley men's basketball team will take the floor against Grambling State Tigers men's basketball at 7:30 p.m. CT to open their run in the conference tournament.

On the diamond, the Delta Devils baseball team will travel to face University of New Orleans in a midweek match up before heading back into conference action this weekend with a road series at Arkansas–Pine Bluff Golden Lions baseball.

Mississippi Valley State softball will also be on the road this weekend as the Delta Devils travel to Tallahassee for a conference series against the Florida A&M Rattlers softball.

The Delta Devils men's and women's track and field teams will compete at the Sean Brady Opener on Saturday in Hammond, Louisiana, hosted by Southeastern Louisiana University. The meet marks another opportunity for Valley athletes to continue their outdoor season and build momentum heading into the heart of the schedule.
