THE DELTA | Southwestern Athletic Conference competition takes center stage this week for Mississippi Valley State Athletics as volleyball opens league play with two home matches and football travels to Montgomery, Ala., to face Alabama State.

Volleyball begins its SWAC slate Friday, Sept. 25, hosting Texas Southern at 6 p.m. inside the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex. The matchup gives the Delta Devils an opportunity to establish an early conference foothold in front of their home crowd.

On Saturday, Sept. 26, Mississippi Valley State football heads to Montgomery for a conference matchup against Alabama State. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. as the Delta Devils return to the road following their home opener.

The weekend concludes Sunday, Sept. 27, when volleyball welcomes Prairie View A&M to the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex for a noon first serve. The contest closes a two-match home weekend as MVSU looks to build momentum in conference play.

Students, alumni and fans are encouraged to fill the HPER Complex for both volleyball matches and support the Delta Devils as football takes on Alabama State.
