Coach Vaughn, also known as "Coach EV" enters his first season on the sidelines for the Devilettes. Vaughn is a passionate coach with over 29 years of coaching experience, having coached in over 900 games. Vaughn has coached male and female basketball teams at the middle school, high school, college, and professional levels, most recently was Founder/Head Coach of Blessed IJN Prep Academy for the 2019-20 season.
Coach Vaughn's coaching career also includes the following; assistant coach with Millsaps College and Jackson State University; assistant coach with the CBA's Fort Wayne Fury and the CBA's Gary Steelheads and head coach of the South Side High School Girls' Varsity basketball team. He is the former head coach of the ABA Carolina Cougars and the TRBL's Cary Invasion. He is the former head coach of Keystone School's Boys' Varsity basketball team. He is the former head coach of Dillard Middle School. He is the former head coach of Goldsboro High School JV team. He is the founder of Blessed IJN Sports AAU program that he coached from 1998-2008, where coached the likes of current NBA star Mason Plumlee and the late James Hardy a former NFL wide receiver.
Vaughn attended elementary and junior high school in Clarksdale, Mississippi and moved to Saginaw, Michigan to attend high school. He was an All-State basketball player at Saginaw Valley Lutheran High School. He attended Michigan Christian College, a small college located in Rochester, Michigan, where he led the basketball team to a NSCAA national championship. He was named M. V. P. and 1st Team All-American. He went on to attend I.P.F.W. where he holds the single season record for Free Throw percentage. Vaughn holds a bachelor's degree in General Studies from Indiana University.
Coach Vaughn currently resides in Clinton, Mississippi with his wife Francis, and has 5 children Jerald (29), Feryn(James) (29), Mary (25), Eliana (15), and Eric Jr. (12).
