Jasmyne Sanders

Jasmyne Sanders is entering her third year with the Mississippi Valley State University women’s basketball program. In her first year, she served as an intern and is currently a volunteer assistant coach.

Sanders is an NCAA Certified recruiter, has the ability to scout and evaluate recruits, provides camp and clinic instructions and player skills development.

Beginning August 2016, Sanders has assisted in maintaining accurate statistics records and results of each game, recruiting and meeting with prospective student-athletes, player development of the forwards and centers, reviewing game film and statistical reports for game operations and training student-athletes during the off season. She also plans and coordinates meals for road trips, foster a culture of good sportsmanship, cooperation and responsibility and motivating and encouraging student-athletes to do their best during practices and games.

Sanders also has experience as a volunteer assistant coach with the Mississippi Fire Basketball Non-Profit Organization located in Brandon, Mississippi. Serving as a volunteer from May 2013-July 2017, she assisted the assisted the head coach in training middle and high school age ladies in effective play for the forward and center position. She worked with students in one-on-one and group sessions on defensive and offensive drills and coached competitive games throughout the summer to apply their skills and reinforce their learning.

Sanders received her Master of Science in Sport Science: Sports Management from Jackson State University in April 2018 and her Bachelor of Science in Health, Physical Education & Recreation in May 2014, from Mississippi Valley State University. Prior to enrolling at Mississippi Valley, Sanders attended Delta State University in Cleveland, Miss., from 2009-2011.

While at MVSU, Sanders was named to the 1st Team All-SWAC College Sports Madness team for the 2013-2014 season. She was also a McDonald All-American Nominee in 2009. Sanders is a member of Zeta Phi Beta International Sorority, Incorporated.
