Box Score ITTA BENA -- It took only three sets for the Missisippi Valley State women's volleyball team to send Alcorn State back to southwest portion of the state.

The Devilettes (6-9, 1-1 SWAC) easily streaked past the Lady Braves in the first game 25-9 before finishing them off 25-11 in the second and 25-18 in the last game.

Halle Gayten accounted for 10 kills by Brychana Williams had eight.

MVSU also wore pink in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Devilettes will be off until Friday when they travel to face another rival, Jackson State, at 7 p.m. The game will be shown live on SWAC-TV on www.swac.org. MVSU will be back in Jackson on Saturday when they go against Tougaloo College at 1 p.m.
