JACKSON, Miss. – Mississippi Valley State left it all out on the field.

The Delta Devils, who were coming off a big win over Grambling State, battled rival Jackson State to double overtime Saturday before succumbing to a 14-7 loss to the Tigers.

JSU quarterback Clayton Moore scored the game-winning touchdown on a 1-yard TD sneak following a 22-yard strike to Zach Pendleton in the second overtime.

MVSU had one last chance to extend or win the game, but a Brandon Stansell fumble sealed the Delta Devils’ fate.

It marked the 18th straight win for JSU over Valley.

MVSU stayed alive in regulation thanks to a 71-yard bomb from Marcus Randle to Richard Drake that tied the game at 7 with 6:42 remaining.

MVSU missed a potential game-winning field goal in the first overtime, but Valley’s Kevin Eugene picked off Moore on fourth down to send the game to the second overtime.

It was then Moore’s 1-yard plunge that gave the Tigers all it needed to extend its winning streak over the Delta Devils.

Randle finished 15 of 23 for 175 yards and a TD. Valley’s Kenneth Dabney led MVSU with seven catches for 63 yards while Julian Stafford added five catches for 67 yards. Drake contributed two catches for 75 yards a score.

Robert Simpson led Valley’s defense with 14 tackles (3.5 for loss).
