Box Score ITTA BENA -- The Mississippi Valley State volleyball team fell 3-1 to Alabama State on Tuesday night despite a valiant effort by the Devilettes. 

The Lady Bulldogs (7-17, 5-1 SWAC) got out to a 2-0  lead after winning the first two sets, 25-22 and 22-17. But the Devilettes extended the game after winning the third set, 25-22.

A&M put the finishing touches on the game after claiming the fourth set, 25-12.

Brychana Williams led MVSU (7-11, 1-3 SWAC) with 10 kills while Halle Gayten chipped in nine. Gayten also had four blocking assists.

Williams and April Brown each led the Devilettes with six assists.
