ITTA BENA – The Mississippi Valley State women’s soccer team is set to celebrate Family and Senior Weekend starting Friday against rival Jackson State.

Three MVSU seniors (Kayla Boyd, Kristina Swanson and Brooke Feikert) will be recognized before Friday’s 6 p.m. showdown against the Lady Tigers.

MVSU will also host Southern University on Sunday at 1 p.m.

"The team's attitude has been very healthy towards wanting to improve as a team in each training session and game," said MVSU coach Sonia Curvelo. "Each player is showing improvement everyday, which is great for the team. It does make my job harder when it comes to selections, however this is very healthy because players are ready and very capable of all performing at a high level. Tomorrow is a SWAC qualifying match, which is exciting for everyone. I know my team will come out tomorrow performing our best."
