Ralling notches career-high, but Delta Devils fall at Ole Miss

Box Score OXFORD, Miss. -- Blake Ralling scored a career-high 16 points Friday night, but it wasn't enough to lead the Mississippi Valley State to an upset win over Ole Miss as the Rebels held off the Delta Devils 111-82 at the Tad Smith Coliseum in front of an announced crowd of 6,267.

Ralling's 16 points eclisped his 15-point performance last year at LSU. On Friday, the Atlanta native made all three of his 3-point attempts in 18 minutes of action off the bench.

After a slow start, the Delta Devils found their rhythm in the second half, shooting 59.4 percent in the final 20 minutes after hitting just 29.7 percent of their shots in the first half.

Ole Miss led 54-32 at halftime and outscored Valley 57-50 in the second half.

MVSU frehsman James Currington was one rebound shy of a double-double as the Tuscaloosa, Ala. native finished with 12 points, nine rebounds and four steals.

The Delta Devils' bench accounted for 37 points with Jordan Washington putting up 14 points and six assists. Meanwhile, DeAngeo Priar (13 points) and Anthony McDonald (12 points) combined for 25 points.

Derrick Millinghaus paced the Rebels with a career-high 21 points.

Valley will be on the road Tuesday at Georgia Tech at 7 p.m. EST in a game that will be broadcasted live on ESPN3.
